Do I have to read the book?
The comedians are all reading the book and will base their set on it.
For the audience, our Resident Summarizer will give a synopsis at the top of the show, to get everyone on the "same page," in case they you don't have a chance to read it.

When is Book Club Comedy Hour?
The second Wednesday of every other month at 7:00pm (Oct 14, Dec 9, 2026)
How much are tickets?
$12 - Purchase them on Eventbrite HERE.
Do audiobooks count as reading?
According to the Public Library, they sure do!
Is this a comedy show or a book club?
Both! The performers base their sets on the pre-announced book. Plus it's a community setting, so everyone ends up talking about the book, plus other books since we're surrounded by BOOKS!
What genre of book do you read?
We choose a variety of genres to feature for Book Club Comedy Hour. Typically we read novels, but not always, and definitely not always a comedy book... though so far nothing too dark. If you have a book suggestion, email me! We prioritize authors from historically underrepresented authors.
Where can I get the featured book?
Many of our books are available at the library and on the Libby app. We also encourage you to buy from your local bookstore. Mention "Book Club Comedy Show" to receive a 20% discount at The Last Bookstore Studio City!
